Why Bluetooth Headphones?
Bluetooth Headphones are amazing for listening to music or streaming TV shows and when they have active noise cancellation they are great for blocking out distractions! I have 3 loud boys so I need all the help I can get to block distractions when I’m trying to focus on my blog or anything else I need to focus on. Even if you don’t have noisy kids, being able to block out noise in noisy environments such as a workplace, gym, or other noisy places is great!
It’s great to be able to walk around the house, far away from my phone or computer, and still be able to hear my music or streaming show that I’m watching, something I couldn’t do before Bluetooth headphones.
Sure, there are all sorts of expensive Bluetooth headphones with active noise cancellation out there from Apple airpods max to sony wh-1000xm and of course Bose quietcomfort ultra headphones but I’m all about great items that cost less, you know, so us normal people can buy them!!
Bluetooth Headphones with Active Noise Cancellation
Soundcore Life Q20 headphones are so incredibly comfortable, have great sound quality, and a long range. They are great for budget-conscious consumers. I love wearing these over-ear headphones to get in the zone when working on my blog, especially on Sundays when I’m not in charge of the kids. They help block out a decent amount of sound with the active noise cancellation feature toggled on.
These headphones have a rich sound quality whether or not they have the active noise cancellation toggled on or off. They have a power button on the headphones as well as volume control so you can control it all from the headphones without reaching for your phone or other device to adjust sound. With the power button you can also pause what you’re listening to and restart it when you’re ready. These days having built-in microphones are a must-have and these don’t disappoint! The built in microphone can be used for a phone calls, a video call, and even recording yourself via video, if desired.
They come in a few different colors and the same brand has higher level models as well if you have a bigger budget.
My husband has these and as you’ll see, I got the upgrade to them recently, but both are great.
Low Budget and Great
Middle Budget and the Best Headphones
If you have a bit more money, or if they’re on a flash sale, check out the Soundcore by Anker Q20i Active Noise Cancellation Bluetooth Headphones! I just got these for Christmas and I am in LOVE with them!! They’re the best wireless headphones I’ve ever used.
These headphones have a longer range than even the more expensive Wyze brand headphones below which is great so I can go anywhere on our main floor and even upstairs and still hear my music, or let’s be honest, a TV show, via my headphones without interruption. All while blocking out background noise.
They also help block out my super noisy boys. I’m always still available if they need me BUT most of the time they just are screaming and yelling because they’re excited about a game they’re playing or something that I don’t need to be notified about so having these really helps.
If you don’t want to use the active noise cancellation you can turn that off and be in transparency mode. These headphones boast 40 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation (ANC) on and 60 hours of battery life with ANC off. There is even a Soundcore app you can download to further customize your audio including EQ settings and even relax with white noise. I had forgotten about this but while writing this blog post I downloaded the app and got it all set up. Though I just got my headphones less than a month ago they already needed an update which is kind of neat that they keep them up to date, I figure more is yet to come, right?!
Within the app there are default sound effects you can use such as for podcasts, bass booster, acoustic, classical, spoken voice, and so much more. You can also make a custom profile if you’d like!
The Q20i headphones feature dual-connections so you can switch between two different devices seamlessly. I do this between my computer and my phone, as needed.
Another awesome thing is they use the USB-C charging cable so if you have a newer iPhone or iPad, you can use the same cable to charge your phone or iPad AND your headphones! I switch them out at my desk when I need to charge one or the other. It’s great to only need one charging cable on my desk.
Headphones with adjustable headbands are awesome, and these are included in that sentiment. They fit smaller heads as well as larger heads with the adjustable headband. The audio quality is great and the lightweight design yet sturdy feel of them will let you wear them all day without being annoyed. Other headphones would hurt the sides of my face when I had to start wearing glasses but these don’t! These Bluetooth headphones are great for travel as you can fold the headphones to fit in smaller places. They’re also great for wearing over long periods of time, I wear them much of the day.
I prefer over-ear headphones to in-ear headphones because they block out more noise with the active noise cancellation and because my ears tend to get painful pimples in them if I use in-ear headphones too much, even with cleaning them often. I still use the in-ear headphones from time to time when I don’t need the active noise cancellation, I’ll talk more about those later in this post.
Below is a picture of my actual headphones and the cable I have on my desk so I can charge them or other devices whenever I need to. There is also a picture of me…yep, that’s me, I’m not a super model and I don’t wear make up but I know how to save you money, that’s what matters, right?!
Bigger Budget? Try the Wyze Active Noise Cancellation Bluetooth Headphones
Previously, these were my favorite and I bought them at a cheaper price range than they are currently. I still think they’re very good but the Soundcore Q20i are my new favorite.
However, if you want the Wyze brand and app, then check these out if they’re available and you have the extra money for them. These headphones do feel a bit more robust than the ones above, though they both have great sound, great quality, extra features, active noise cancellation, and more.
These headphones have excellent sound quality and have a comfortable design. They have 20 hours of battery life when fully charged and a 10 minute quick charge provides 4 hours of battery life.
Not only are they wireless and connect via Bluetooth technology, but you can also see more settings within the Wyze app.
These headphones also have Amazon Alexa built in!! You can use Siri, Google Assistant, Bixby, and Alexa through these headphones to set reminders, skip to another song, and more, all with the touch of a finger to the headphones and through talking to it.
They are great at blocking out noise that you don’t want to hear as well. My kids are LOUD and I have really sensitive hearing. Sometimes I put these on just to soften the noise of their loudness, even if I’m not listening to any music or podcasts at the time. It really, really helps.
Similar to the headphones above, they have active noise cancellation and also a transparency mode if you want to hear things around you.
Just today I was taking a nap, which I rarely ever do, and I wore these headphones while using a white noise app. I slept through my boys being super loud as these helped block them out. It was really impressive!!
These headphones have superior sound and powerful bass. They’re an excellent choice if you have the funds to buy them and want more rugged headphones. They also fold flat which is nice.
Budget Kids Bluetooth Headphones
Each one of our boys have these Bluetooth headphones for their iPads and they love them! I thought they were such great quality and sound that I ended up buying the adult size for myself after using theirs!
These headphones can be connected via Bluetooth technology for 22 hours of battery life before charging again. They also can be connected via headphone jack with an included spare audio cable that is rugged and long, which is great for kids. They have great sound either way you listen.
We also use these for long car rides in the van when we hook them up to our sound system via audio cable so they can listen to podcasts.
Great Kids Bluetooth Headphones
If you have a bit more to spend, and especially if they’re on sale like they are at the moment I’m writing this, the Belkin SoundForm Inspire Wireless Over-Ear headphones for kids is a great find. Our twins use these for their online school and they love them. The external microphone is great to ensure their teacher and classmates can hear them clearly.
These Bluetooth headphones can be used via Bluetooth technology and with the included audio cable that can be connected via headphone jack. We had to do this the other day when I forgot to charge them over the long Winter break and it worked well. The audio cable is nice and long so even when one of my twins forgot he was connected to his laptop and got up to see what his twin brother was doing, it was just fine because the cable was so long.
These kids Bluetooth headphones have great microphone quality, have an 85dB safe volume limit to protect hearing, as well as 35 hours of battery life. They last my twins all week with their online school then I charge them for a couple hours on Friday evening and they’re ready for the next week. The wireless technology is great as kids tend to get distracted and walk away from what they’re working on and if they were plugged in they’d take the device with them, which isn’t ideal.
Bluetooth Lite Earbuds with Earhooks Headphones
If you’d prefer in-ear headphones, you’ll love these. They stay on my ears well, no matter what I’m doing. The case they are housed in can also charge the headphones, which is so awesome. Each charge results in 8 hours of listening or calls and the charger can charge for another 40 hours before it needs to be plugged in.
Seriously, these are so awesome.
These in-ear headphones are also able to controlled by the buttons on the earbuds so you don’t have to be right by your phone or computer to pause what you’re listening to, answer a call, skip a song, etc. These are the best wireless earbuds I’ve used and will continue to use them.
Another thing I absolutely love about these Bluetooth earbuds is the long range they have. I can have them connected to my phone in the kitchen and go upstairs, downstairs, or even out our front door and I don’t miss a beat of a song or a word of a podcast.
I tend to wear these Bluetooth earbuds just one at a time so I can listen to a podcast or music but still have an ear to hear what my kids are up to if they’re playing together and not needing me at the moment. This really helps me get some sanity back to be able to partially focus on something intellectual or relaxing while still caring for my kids. These Bluetooth earbuds have good sound whether you use one earbud at a time or two which is up to your personal preferences. If you want the best listening experience, wear them both at the same time, though just one at a time works as well.
The long battery life plus ability for the case to charge the headphones without being plugged into the wall is another bonus of these earbuds.
These earbuds come in black, blue, mint green, green, rose gold, purple, and light blue.
